Hot new electro-indie stars VIVA CITY unleash their storming third single ‘BEHOLD’ on Monday 23 November. Behold is an urgent mix of dirty guitars, throbbing d’n’b basslines and anthemic vocals, fused with Viva City’s trademark electronic wizardry. This edgy, darkly hypnotic track is visualised by an unsettling video played out in an eerie derelict asylum. Viva City’s bassist Bruce Tate said: "The vid for Behold was shot in the forests around the North of England by the band. It’s quite a dark tune for us, so we went all dark on the video too. Final part was shot at Stannington Mental Asylum which was 3 days away from demolition and was one freaky beast of a place. Collapsing floors, walls falling in, dodgy looking treatment rooms, even an autopsy table. Weird." Winning critical acclaim for their first two singles, Viva City continue to have fantastic support from BBC 6 Music. Legendary DJ Tom Robinson recently chose their indie chart hit debut single ‘Kate Bush’ as one of his fave tracks to celebrate his BBC Introducing show’s second birthday, declaring it ‘classic electro rock’ and ‘sheer genius’ . And during his BBC 6 Music interview with Viva City, Tom hailed second single ‘Have You Ever Felt So Messed Up?’ as "Leering, sneering, swaggering electro-strut." The O2 Music Academy snapped up Viva City for a national tour this autumn which showcased four rising new acts at four cities across the UK, bringing Viva City’s electro mastery to the masses. Produced by the legendary Kosheen DJs and mashing an edgy, warped mix of indie-dance with dirty electro breaks, this fresh sound establishes Viva City as one of the most exciting and innovative bands on the scene. Rated by TIME OUT as "Souped-up synth stabbing electro rock", Viva City’s ‘wonderfully over-blown synths‘ cut with d’n’b-influenced baselines are gathering praise and fans across the country.
